Your Chromebook uses the language that you chose when you first set up your device. If you want to use a different language, you can change it in the Settings menu:
- If you haven’t already, sign in to your Chromebook.
- Click the status area, where your account picture appears.
- Select Settings > Show advanced settings.
- In the "Languages" section, click the Language and input settings button.
- You can then adjust the following settings:
Choose the language that you want to use for Chromebook menus.
- If the language that you want to use isn't shown in the list to the left, click Add.
- Select the language that you want to use.
- Click Display Google Chrome in this language.
- Click Sign out. The next time you sign in, menus will be in your language.
Choose the language that you want to use for spell-checking.
- If the language that you want to use isn't shown in the list to the left, click Add.
- Select the language that you want to use.
- If it's available click the Use this language for spell-checking.
- To remove a language, select it from the list on the left, then click X.
Choose the language that you want to use to read web pages.
- If the language that you want to use isn't listed, click Add. (Add only the languages that you need so you can be sure that the content of the sites that you visit is accurate.)
- In the list that appears, click the language that you want to use, then click OK.
- Drag your preferred languages to the top of the list.
- To remove a language, select it from the list to the left, then click X.
- Optional: If you'd like Google Chrome to automatically translate pages, tick the box next to "Offer to translate pages in this language."
